Before you fight sullivan you should arm yourself with at least 3 sniper rifles. Now you have your rifles you can defeat sullivan very easily, all you need to do is keep running circles round him until the plane destroys nearly all of the ground then simply jump through the hole that is to the left of sullivan. When down stairs climb the structure in front of you and sniper him until he is dead. He can't shoot or hit you with explosives so enjoy defeating him easily.
